On Site Optimisation
On site optimisation is the process of optimising your web pages so that they are easily noticed by the crawlers. This means adding all the keywords fromyour keyword research campaign to your pages in the appropriate places.
Crawlers are programmes that search the web and collect data about every page they find. Crawlers move from page to page via links. This is one reason why links are very important for on site optimisation. They then return the collected data to the search engines where it is added to the search engine database.
When someone searches for a site like yours, the search engine consults the database and returns those pages it deems most appropriate to the search term. Good onsite optimisation gives your site the best chance of being in the top 30 sites listed for that search term.
Crawlers also cannot see images, so it is essential that your text tells the crawler what your page is about. When we do on site optimisation we make sure that your keywords appear in all of the following:
- Titles
- File names
- Alt tags (attached to images)
- Links
- Body text
